Breakout Sessions

This year, we encourage you to....

 

We will have three distinctive paths to help you reach your professional summit. We encourage you to move from track to track as a way to diversify what you are hearing and learning. 

 

          The first path is designed for a more experienced planner or supplier. Breakouts in this path offer sessions covering a list of complex issues that face the travel and hospitality industry

 

10:00am - 11:00am

"New Age Networking and Prospecting"

Session Description: Are you tired of leaving voicemails and not getting called back?  Are you tired of sending emails and feeling unsure they are not getting past the junk mail folder, or even worse, deleted without being read? Session Description: Booking meetings outside of North America can be a challenge.  Join us as we tap the brain of an experienced planner who books a large portfolio of meetings all over  the world.  This will be an open discussion about trends, what to do and most importanly what not to do as you look to plan your next global event.

 

 

         The last path will be for fringe topics such as getting your program more involved in the community and what to do in a terrorist or mass shooting scenario along with many others.

"Active Shooter Awareness"

Session Description: This seminar will address the realities of workplace active shooter events, and the real world police and emergency services response.  The identification of potential threats and how to prepare for those threats will be discussed, as well as how to employ lifesaving measures when faced with acts of violence.  Attendees will leave with a better understanding of the abilities and limitations of emergency services, and what they can do to prepare for and survive a workplace active shooter event

"How to Stay Safe on the Road"

Session DescriptionThis session will focus on reducing the risks facing employees who are engaged in frequent travel.   "Human Trafficking - Presented by BEST"

Session Description: Human trafficking is a crime that can impact the businesses of your vendors and customers--and even your own business. BEST has recently launched a new online training with videos and interactive questions, which will provide content for our discussion in this session. The session will provide employees with the knowledge and skills to help protect your organization from the risks that sex trafficking and buying pose. The session will also enable you to feel good about the positive difference that your organization can make it the community.
You will learn:

• How sex trafficking and sex buying impacts your business
• Steps to proactively prevent illegal activity
• Indicators of sex trafficking and buying
• Recommended actions to take if you or your staff see indicators of sex trafficking or buying

Local Star-Master Trainer, Competitive Physique Bodybuilder, and Indy 500 Driver Hopeful, Javier Cantu-Lucero, will be sharing his winning tips on how-to develop a “no excuses” daily workout plan for event professionals on-the-go.
